CuckoosNest Sound Lab A prolific songwriter, with a passion for recording music, Rogue relocated to the country in 2022 and converted a 20' x 12' Amish-built shed into small studio with the purpose of faithfully recording acoustic drums, percussion, and other instruments. The Sound Lab's been operational since 2023, much of Rogue Johnsen Project HOME was completed there.
Education After touring for many years, and with education being such a constant thread in his life,
Rogue Johnsen returned to school at forty and completed a BA in Music and a Master's Degree in Education.
Licensed to teach Music in the state of Virginia, Rogue is currently teaching individuals and small group.
From 13 February to the 21st, Rogue Johnsen will be the "Artist in Residence" for 2nd Thursdays and the Inn Upon Moon River Blues Bed and Breakfast in Chester South Carolina.

Rogue Johnsen Project plays a diverse blend of original blues, groove-jazz, and American roots music. Dedicated to continuing the traditions of Blues and Roots music and it's early offshoots, and to recording and performing new music that passes on the spirit of those traditions,
Formed by Mike Dutton (guitars) and Joe Wells (drums), Their first release, the all-instrumental 20/20, was critically acclaimed and received national and international airplay. In 2023, guitarist /songwriter Mark Saurs and drummer Lance Foster joined the Project and began recording tracks for the next release: HOME
Ten original compositions, and one classical Charles Brown cover.
HOME by Rogue Johnsen Project is influenced by a range of American music styles from Country Blues and Southern Soul, to Jazz/Blues and Rock & Roll.
